Jimin’s ‘Like Crazy’ and Jungkook’s ‘Seven’ topped the ‘Hot 100’, and BTS had a whopping 8 songs at No. 1 on the ‘Hot 100’. <\/p>\n
Along with this, BTS was recorded as one of the 9 teams with multiple members soloing to the top of the ‘Hot 100’, along with The Beatles, Black Eyed Peas, and Destiny’s Child. <\/p>\n
In fact, Jungkook’s ‘Hot 100’ 1st place was not easily predicted. ‘Hot 100’ is a chart that ranks music by integrating the number of streaming, radio broadcasts, and music sales (single and digital combined). <\/p>\n
However, Billboard recently announced that it would exclude D2C (direct-to-consumer) sites from chart aggregation. K-pop artists have mainly used D2C as a sales channel, and fans have put a lot of effort into downloading music to ‘gun’ to overcome their inferiority in the number of streaming and radio broadcasts. <\/p>\n
If one person (one account) digital sales counted up to four purchases per week, the new rule only counts one per week. <\/p>\n
It was only natural that Billboard, which had been like that, changed its chart aggregation method once again prior to Jungkook’s sortie, and complained, “Isn’t it the intention to keep K-pop and BTS in check?” <\/p>\n
But Jungkook didn’t care. <\/p>\n
‘Seven’ has risen to the top of the charts with about 21.9 million streams, 6.4 million radio broadcasts (Airplay), and 153,000 digital CD sales. This is why Jungkook’s conquest of the ‘Hot 100’ is even more amazing.<\/p>\n
