Hybe (formerly Big Hit) released its Korean language textbook “Learn! KOREAN with BTS” in August last year. This is to make it easier for BTS fans around the world to learn Hangul. In about eight months, 300,000 copies were sold in 30 countries.

Hybe, who was encouraged by the success of its first textbook, released its second textbook. “Learn! KOREAN with TinyTAN” is a BTS cartoon character. “Hybe Edu,” which is in charge of producing educational contents in Hybe, created a textbook.

What’s more advanced than the first is that artificial intelligence (AI) technology is applied. The voice of BTS members comes from Motipen, a component of the textbook. BTS voice also came out in the first textbook, but this was the result of recording each members’ voice. This time, the voice of a member from BTS’ content taught AI for about six months and then put it in a sound pen. Hybe’s ambition to become a “technology company” beyond the entertainment sector has become a reality.

A small but big change caused by applying AI is that BTS members call the name of the person who bought the textbook. If you scan the QR code of the card in the textbook and enter your name, the sound pen will call you afterwards. It could not have been done by recording the voice of the members.

The textbook ‘Learn! KOREAN with TinyTAN’ started selling on the 26th. The price is 99,000 Korean Won. Hybe Edu also created TVOD educational content for those who would be burdened with price. This content is more compressed than textbooks and can be learned by video. Price of TVOD is 20,000 Korean Won.
