AESPA’s comeback with ‘Savage’… ‘Black Mamba’ worldview that enhances immersion

AESPA continues their own worldview through original storytelling. On the 23rd, SM Entertainment released a teaser image for AESPA’s first mini-album ‘Savage’. There is a lot of interest in what kind of imaginative story AESPA, which is expanding its worldview from its debut song, will unravel in its music. ‘Savage’ is a word meaning ‘ferocious’ or ‘violent’, and it is expected to describe AESPA’s rough appearance fighting the ‘black mamba’ that interferes with communication with the avatar.
In addition, the album cover contains the appearance of ‘Black Mamba’ as if captured in a virtual space, so there is speculation that AESPA eventually arrived in ‘The Wilderness’ and defeated ‘Black Mamba’.
In the teaser image released together, Winter and Ning-Ning also made dazzling gestures on a giant snake that looked like a ‘Black Mamba’, raising curiosity about the new album ‘Savage’.
SM explained that ‘Savage’ is organically connected to the worldview of the debut songs ‘Black Mamba’ and ‘Next Level’.” Through the previous two songs, AESPA built their own unique metaverse world by going back and forth between the real world and the virtual world. At that time, General Manager Lee Soo-man introduced AESPA as “a group with a completely new and innovative concept that transcends the boundaries between the ‘real world’ and the ‘virtual world’.”
As General Manager Lee Soo-man said, AESPA builds a worldview with the four members in the ‘real world’ and the four avatars (ae) in the ‘virtual world’ as the basic premise. ‘Black Mamba’ is a villain who interferes with the synchronization of humans and avatars, and AESPA sets out in search of the undefined, infinite realm ‘wilderness’ where ‘Black Mamba’ is wandering.
