The American Recording Academy announced the nominations for the 63rd Grammy Awards on the evening of the 24th.
With the single “Dynamite” released in August, BTS was ranked in the “Best Pop Duo·Group Performance” category.
In the same category, they compete with local top stars such as Dua Lipa, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift.
Beyonce was named in nine categories and became the most nominated for this award ceremony.
This year, BTS ranked third on the Billboard album chart with ‘MAP OF THE SOUL: 7’ released in February, and ranked 4th on the single chart with the track ‘ON’, followed by ‘Dynamite’.
Critic Daehwa Lee said, “It’s not easy because their competitors are very strong stars, but the Grammy’s tendency to dispel the conservative controversy over the years may work favorably to BTS.”
