BTS member V’s solo album Layover continues to enjoy immense popularity on the iTunes album charts.
Released in September last year, V’s first solo album Layover reached the number one spot on the iTunes Top Albums Chart in Canada on August 25, bringing the album’s total to 108 countries (regions) where it has achieved the top position.
Only five Asian solo artists have ever reached number one on the iTunes Album Chart in more than 100 countries, further solidifying V’s position as a solo artist with strong global appeal and limitless potential.
With his debut solo album, V stands shoulder to shoulder with global pop stars, solidifying his status as a solo artist with a robust fanbase and significant digital streaming power.
The tracks from Layover have also performed remarkably well on the iTunes Top Songs Chart: “Slow Dancing” has topped the charts in 100 countries, “Rainy Days” in 103 countries, and “Love Me Again” in 101 countries, showcasing the enduring love for the entire album.
In June, V became the first Asian solo artist to have all tracks from an album surpass 100,000 units sold in the United States, demonstrating his global influence.
Layover also achieved impressive success on the Billboard charts, debuting at number two on the Billboard 200, with the tracks “Slow Dancing” and “Love Me Again” entering the Billboard Hot 100, further proving V’s powerful streaming numbers.
On August 20, nearly a year after its release, Layover began accepting pre-orders for its LP version. Despite the short notice, with the announcement made just an hour before sales began, the LP quickly sold out, becoming a bestseller both domestically and internationally.
The LP has already sold out twice on Japan’s Universal Music Store and BTS Japan Official Shop, and it also sold out on Target in the United States, with fans eagerly requesting restocks.
