BTS member Jimin has made waves at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMA) by winning the “Best K-Pop” award, continuing BTS’s dominance in this category for the second consecutive year. Following Jungkook’s win last year, Jimin secured the award, highlighting BTS’s sustained influence in the global music scene. The “Best K-Pop” category, established by MTV EMA in 2021, was initially awarded to BTS as a group, and now two individual members have consecutively claimed the title.
Jimin’s second solo album, MUSE, and its title track “Who” have gained significant traction worldwide since their release in July. The album’s popularity on global charts, including its 15-week presence on Billboard 200 and Hot 100, as well as a 16-week run on the UK Official Chart, likely contributed to this award. On Spotify’s “Weekly Top Songs Global” (November 1–7), “Who” maintains a top-five position, showcasing its continued appeal nearly four months post-release. This track also achieved Jimin’s highest solo ranking on the UK Official Singles Chart, entering at No. 4.
BTS members are showcasing strong solo performances. In addition to Jimin’s success, he is set to hold a solo exhibit in Los Angeles on November 29 and Tokyo on January 10, encompassing works from his albums FACE and MUSE. Jin will release his first solo album Happy on November 15, featuring band-based tracks that display his musical evolution. RM’s documentary, RM: Right People, Wrong Place, which captures the making of his album Right Place, Wrong Person, will debut globally in December, while V will release a duet with Bing Crosby, “White Christmas,” on December 6.
BTS continues to set new records and expand their influence, both as a group and as solo artists, marking their presence on the global stage.
