Unmatched Success in Japan’s Iconic Venues
The Fukuoka shows, held from December 19 to 22, drew over 120,000 fans, with tickets selling out well in advance. SEVENTEEN’s performances included Japanese original hits like Shohikigen (消費期限/Expiration Date) and Not Alone, as well as Japanese versions of fan favorites like MAESTRO and Snap Shoot. The dynamic setlist, paired with intricate stage design and unit-specific performances, underscored SEVENTEEN’s reputation as “performance masters.”
Expressing gratitude, the members shared:
“For the past nine years, CARATs have been our foundation. We’re truly happy to share these moments with you. SEVENTEEN will continue to bring you new experiences next year, so please look forward to it.”
Expanding Global Reach with Streaming and Immersive Experiences
For fans unable to attend in person, SEVENTEEN provided live viewing options. Their Osaka show on December 14 was screened in over 1,500 theaters across 60 countries and regions, while the Fukuoka finale streamed online to audiences in 157 countries.
SEVENTEEN also launched their fourth SEVENTEEN THE CITY project in Japan, collaborating with over 35 local businesses and institutions to offer unique fan experiences. These ranged from themed events at landmarks to exclusive merchandise and dining experiences, further cementing their cultural impact.
Dominance in Japanese Music Charts
SEVENTEEN’s success extended beyond the stage. The group topped the Oricon annual charts for “Combined Albums” and “Album Rankings” as the highest-ranking international artists of 2024. Similarly, four of their albums landed in the Top 10 of Billboard Japan’s “Hot Albums” annual chart, setting new records for overseas artists.
Looking Ahead to 2024
SEVENTEEN’s tour continues into 2024, with stops in Bulacan, Singapore, Jakarta, and Bangkok, all set to take place in massive stadiums. Before resuming their tour, the group will appear at the 39th Golden Disc Awards on January 5, promising an exciting start to the new year.
SEVENTEEN’s ongoing success in Japan and beyond reaffirms their status as one of K-pop’s most formidable global acts. Fans eagerly await what the group has in store for the year ahead.
