BTS’ ‘Butter’ breaks Spotify’s Single Day Streams record

With the new digital single ‘Butter’, BTS set a new record for the number of daily global streaming on Spotify. According to Spotify on the 22nd, BTS’ new song ‘Butter’, which was released on the 21st, received a total of 20.9 million global streaming on the first day of its release. This is the highest number of global streaming per day in the history of Spotify, a 66% increase from ‘Dynamite’ (12.6 million global streaming numbers), which was its own record.  
On the latest Spotify chart (as of May 21), BTS entered the ‘Global Top 200’ with ‘Butter’ and took second place. In addition to the ‘Global Top 200′,’Butter’ is ranked No. 1 in 18 countries/regions including the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Egypt, India, Peru, and Russia on the ‘Top 200’ chart by country/region. ‘Butter’ also recorded 27,722 downloads on the latest chart released by Oricon in Japan (as of May 21), ranking first in the Daily Digital Singles Ranking. It also stands out on major domestic music charts. As of the morning of the 23rd (Korean time),’Butter’ ranked first in all of Melon 24Hits, Genie Music Top 200, Vibe Top 100, Flow Chart, and Bugs Real Time Chart. 
‘Butter’ has gained explosive popularity around the world right after it was released. Earlier, as of 9 a.m. on the 22nd, it ranked No. 1 on the iTunes ‘Top Song’ chart in 101 countries/regions, and the music video exceeded 10 million views in 13 minutes after being released, showing a steep rise and then it achieved 100 million views within about 21 hours. In particular, when the ‘Butter’ music video was first released, the maximum number of simultaneous users exceeded 3.9 million, setting a new record for ‘the most YouTube premier music video ever watched’.
