BTS melts Billboard Music Awards with new song ‘Butter’… Weeknd won 10 crowns

BTS succeeded in winning the Billboard for 5 consecutive years.
On the 23rd at the Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) held at Microsoft Theater in LA, USA, BTS won four trophies from the list where they were nominated such as ‘Top Selling Song’, ‘Top Song Sales Artist’, ‘Top Duo/Group ‘ and ‘Top Social Artist’.
BTS first challenged the “Top Selling Song” with their first English single “Dynamite,” released in August last year.
“Dynamite” ranked first in the digital sound source category with 1.26 million downloads in the United States last year.
BTS shared their impressions of the award in a video in Seoul.
“We wanted to share fresh vitality with many people through “Dynamite,” and we think this award proves that that goal has been achieved. Thank you for loving our music.”

This year, Korea’s Blackpink and Seventeen, Philippine boy group SB19, and American pop star Ariana Grande were nominated, which made fans realize the strength of K-pop.

Although BTS could not attend the awards ceremony in person, they increased the local atmosphere and unity in Los Angeles by starting in the waiting room and continuing to the red carpet and stage.

BTS, who attended the awards ceremony as a performer for four consecutive years, presented their first stage of ‘Fake Love’ in 2018, a joint stage of ‘Boy With Luv’ with Halsey in 2019, and a special stage of ‘Dynamite’ at Incheon International Airport last year.

The second English single, “Butter,” released on the 21st, broke new records from the first day of its release, raising expectations for new results.

Meanwhile, this year’s highest honor, “Top Artist,” went to Canadian pop star Weeknd. By winning 10 crowns with the album “After Hours,” released last year, he cleared up the sadness of not being nominated for the Grammy last March.
Rapper Pop Smoke, who died in a robbery shooting in February last year, won five crowns with his last album, “Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon.”

Drake, who was selected as the representative artist of the 2010s, appeared on the stage with his son and said, “I have been working on music for a long time without any confidence in myself, but today I think I did well.”
