Group Blackpink Rose entered 70th place on the US Billboard main single chart ‘Hot 100’, breaking the highest ranking of all-time K-pop female solo artists.
According to the latest chart released by Billboard on the 23rd, Rose’s solo single album title song ‘On The Ground’ entered 70th place in ‘Hot 100’.
The first song among K-pop to entered Billboard’s ‘Hot 100’ was ‘Nobody’ of the group Wonder Girls, which ranked 76th in 2009.
Recently, K-pop has advanced in the global market, and BTS and Blackpink have achieved high performance.
BTS is on a long run, ranking first three times in the ‘Hot 100’ with ‘Dynamite’ and ranking in the top 50 for 30 consecutive weeks.
Rosé was ranked 70th with ‘On the Ground’, ahead of CL’s record.
Rosé said, “In order to improve the completeness of the title song, I have been thinking a lot about which language is the most suitable for me.”
Since the release of Rosé’s solo album, it has been receiving hot global attention.
In addition to ‘Hot 100’, ‘On the Ground’ took first place in ‘Billboard Global 200’, which ranks based on the sales of streaming and sound sources collected in more than 200 regions around the world including the United States.
‘On the Ground’ reached the top of the iTunes Top Song Chart in 51 countries, including the United States, and also ranked first in the Global YouTube Song Chart (counted from March 12 to March 18) and Music Video Chart.
It was the shortest period for a K-pop female solo artist to achieve 100 million music video views in about a week since its release on YouTube.
