BLACKPINK’s ‘Lovesick Girls’ Dance Video Surpasses 300 Million Views, Seventh Performance Video to Achieve the Milestone

K-pop leading girl group BLACKPINK’s first full album ‘THE ALBUM’ title track ‘Lovesick Girls’ dance video has surpassed 300 million views on YouTube.

According to YG Entertainment on the 6th, BLACKPINK’s ‘Lovesick Girls’ dance video exceeded this view count around 9:08 PM the previous day. This milestone was reached approximately 3 years and 5 months after its release on October 9, 2020.

The explosive view count of both the music and dance videos is a hallmark of BLACKPINK. Among the total 45 BLACKPINK videos on YouTube that have reached hundreds of millions of views, this is the seventh dance video to surpass 300 million views.

‘Lovesick Girls’ features a country-style guitar sound blended with a lyrical melody and BLACKPINK’s powerful vocals. Members Jisoo and Jennie participated in writing and composing the song. The choreography, including gestures simulating a headache and forming a large heart, intuitively expresses longing, pain, and yearning for love, contributing to its popularity.

The song also achieved remarkable results on various global charts. Upon its release, it ranked 59th on Billboard’s main singles chart, the ‘Hot 100’. It reached the top spot on the Global YouTube Songs Top 100 chart for two consecutive weeks. ‘THE ALBUM’, which includes this song, debuted at number 2 on both the Billboard main album chart ‘Billboard 200’ and the UK Official Albums Chart Top 100, subsequently ranking for 10 weeks and 7 weeks respectively.
