BLACKPINK’s Rosé Breaks Records with ‘APT.,’ Reaches No. 8 on Billboard Hot 100

The global success of “APT.” by BLACKPINK’s Rosé and pop icon Bruno Mars is undeniable, as the track soared to No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking a historic achievement. This milestone makes Rosé the first female K-pop soloist to enter the top 10 of the Hot 100. Previously, BLACKPINK reached No. 13 on the chart with their 2020 collaboration “Ice Cream” with Selena Gomez.

The track “APT.,” co-written by Rosé, was inspired by a popular game in Korea known as the “apartment game.” Rosé explained, “It’s one of my favorite games—simple, fun, and perfect for energizing the mood. One night in the studio, I taught the game to the team, and after seeing everyone enjoy it, we began working on the song. Bruno Mars later joined in, and ‘APT.’ came together.”

Released as a pre-single on October 18 from Rosé’s upcoming full album rosie, set to debut on December 6, “APT.” has swept charts globally. It achieved a Perfect All-Kill (PAK) on major Korean music platforms Melon, Genie, Bugs, and Vibe, hitting No. 1 on real-time, daily, and ‘TOP 100’ charts. On Spotify, it quickly crossed 100 million streams, reached No. 1 on 40 regional iTunes charts, and topped China’s QQ Music charts, cementing the “APT.” phenomenon across North America and Asia.

Rosé also broke records as the first Korean female solo artist to reach No. 1 on both the U.S. and global Spotify Top Songs charts, further solidifying her status as a global music powerhouse with APT.
