Can the group BTS be able to open the curtain on ‘post-corona’?
Last year, due to the prolonged Corona 19 situation, social distancing was implemented up to the fourth stage, and popular music performances were also severely damaged.
But what is the reason why BTS’ performances were permitted at least three times more than other singers? The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism currently approves performances within 50% of the facility’s capacity (based on the number of seats) and up to 4,000 people in indoor facilities.
Since November of last year, only indoor performances have been held since it is winter, and up to 4,000 people have been approved, but BTS’ performances are held outdoors, so the rule of less than 50% of the capacity was applied, not the 4,000 limit.
Of course, as the COVID-19 Omicron mutation is rapidly spreading, BTS’ performances cannot be completely free. Accordingly, BTS decided to open only 15,000 seats, or 22.9% of the 65,999 seats in the main stadium. In addition, at the time of the performance, social distancing steps or quarantine rules were changed, leaving the possibility that the performance could be canceled or postponed, and an online performance was also decided to be performed.
Although there are restrictions due to quarantine rules, BTS’s performance has a great meaning in that it is the largest event since the COVID-19 outbreak. After finishing their Seoul concert, BTS departs for the US in April to attend the ‘Grammy Awards’.
