BTS topped the Hot 100 for 5 weeks with ‘Butter’. The group BTS wrote a record of being number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for 5 consecutive weeks. US Billboard announced on the 28th (local time) that BTS topped the main single chart Hot 100 for 5 weeks in a row with their English single ‘Butter’. The single ‘Dynamite’, released by BTS before ‘Butter’, was ranked number one for three weeks. BTS is breaking its own best record, surpassing ‘Dynamite’ with ‘Butter’ and Japanese singer Sagamoto Gyu’s ‘Sukiyaki’, which was the first Asian singer to top the Hot 100 for three weeks in a row in 1963. The number of times they have topped the Hot 100 so far includes ‘Dynamite’, ‘Life goes on’, ‘Savage Love’, a collaboration song with Jason Derulo, and ‘Butter’ for a total of 10 times. Billboard said, “There are only 54 songs in Billboard history that entered the Top 100 on the Hot 100. This is a 15% increase from the previous week and 14 times higher than Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Good for You’ (9,200 cases), the second place. Billboard said that these physical album sales will be reflected in the charts next week. On the other hand, the number of streaming recorded 12.4 million, down 1% from the previous week. BTS has also announced the release of a CD with additional new songs along with ‘Butter’ on the 9th of next month.
