BTS V’s ‘Layover’ Achieves Platinum Certification from Japan’s RIAJ

BTS member V has added a significant milestone in Japan with his solo album. According to the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ), V’s debut solo album Layover, released in September last year, has surpassed 250,000 units in cumulative shipments as of September, earning a Platinum certification. This marks V’s first Platinum certification from the RIAJ for Layover.

The album’s success is also reflected on Japan’s Oricon charts. The recent release of the Layover LP propelled the album to a surprise No. 1 position on Oricon’s Daily Album Ranking on September 30.

The RIAJ grants Gold Disc certifications based on cumulative shipments: Gold (100,000 units), Platinum (250,000 units), Double Platinum (500,000 units), Triple Platinum (750,000 units), and Million (1 million units).
