BTS’s Jungkook Wins Two Awards at the 2023 MAMA AWARDS

Jungkook, a member of the internationally acclaimed K-pop group BTS, has attained notable success at the ‘2023 MAMA AWARDS’, securing two prestigious awards. The ceremony, held at Tokyo Dome in Japan, saw Jungkook being honored for his solo work. He won the ‘Best Dance Performance Male Solo’ category for his single ‘Seven’, and also clinched the ‘Best Collaboration’ award, marking his dual triumph at the event.

‘Seven’, Jungkook’s solo single, has achieved significant chart success since its release in July. It debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, maintaining a presence on the chart for 15 weeks. Additionally, it dominated Billboard’s Global Excl. U.S. chart for nine consecutive weeks and the Global 200 chart for seven weeks. Remarkably, ‘Seven’ established a record as the first global song of 2023 to debut and maintain the top spot for nine consecutive weeks on the Global Excl. U.S. chart.

Furthermore, Jungkook’s ‘Seven’ demonstrated immense streaming power on Spotify, the largest music streaming platform globally. It set a record as the first song by an Asian artist to remain at number one for 71 days on Spotify’s ‘Daily Top Songs Global’ chart and sustained the longest duration at the top in 2023 for a male artist on the ‘Weekly Top Songs Global’ chart. This streaming achievement led to ‘Seven’ being officially recorded in the Guinness World Records for reaching 1 billion streams on Spotify in the shortest time, underscoring Jungkook’s significant global influence as an artist.
