K-pop group DRIPPIN (Hwang Yunseong, Lee Hyeop, Joo Changuk, Kim Dongyun, Kim Minseo, Cha Junho) is set to showcase their “ultimate refreshing charm” with the release of their new single.
On August 19th at 6 PM KST, DRIPPIN will release their fifth single, Weekend, across various music platforms, marking their return to the global music scene.
The title track “Weekend” is a dance song in the emo-pop genre, characterized by its refreshing electric guitar and groovy bass sound. The repetitive melody in the chorus leaves a lasting impression, while the lyrics capture the excitement and freedom felt during a getaway from the monotony of everyday life. The harmonious blend of DRIPPIN’s captivating vocals with the exhilarating and cool sound creates an uplifting atmosphere.
The music video for “Weekend” depicts DRIPPIN enjoying a peaceful getaway in a serene countryside, fully embracing the relaxation and joy that comes with the experience. The natural scenery and the group’s pure, youthful charm create a picturesque summer fairy tale. Various elements within the music video are cleverly intertwined with the theme of the single, offering fans a special and enjoyable experience.
The single Weekend includes three tracks, each highlighting DRIPPIN’s unique vocal color and showcasing their growing musicality. Alongside the title track, the single features “Fly High,” a teen-pop track with a bright mood and intricate arrangements, and “TIME,” which explores the concept of fate through the lens of time, with the notion that “despite everything, we eventually meet.”
This comeback marks DRIPPIN’s return approximately four months after the release of their fourth single Beautiful MAZE, which achieved over 130,000 copies sold in its first week, setting a new career high for the group and heightening anticipation from their global fanbase.
In addition to their new music, DRIPPIN has been expanding their global presence through various activities, including solo fan meetings in South Korea and Japan, as well as a guerrilla performance in Los Angeles. As they approach their fourth anniversary in October, DRIPPIN is poised to solidify their status as a “global rising star” with the refreshing appeal of Weekend, ensuring that they stay connected with fans worldwide through both music and special offline events.
