K-pop group (G)I-DLE (Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, Shuhua) is set to launch a new chapter centered on collective identity with their upcoming eighth mini album We are, marking a shift from their long-standing “I” series to a focus on “we.”
On May 6, Cube Entertainment unveiled a symbolic teaser poster via the group’s official social media channels. The design features five stylized “i” figures forming a star, symbolizing the five distinct members uniting as one cohesive team. The integrated symbol forms the phrase “We are,” emphasizing unity and shared identity.
We are follows their 2023 mini album I SWAY, and continues (G)I-DLE’s discographic journey that began in 2018 with I am. While past albums spotlighted individual member identities, We are marks a turning point, conveying the strength of their collective evolution as a team.
Each member has recently made significant solo strides: Minnie debuted with her solo album HER in January; Yuqi’s digital single “Radio (Dum-Dum)” earned a triple gold certification on QQ Music; and Miyeon’s collaboration “Glow Up” with Chinese artist Jike Junyi topped NetEase Cloud Music’s Korean chart.
Anticipation is high as (G)I-DLE returns as a full group with We are, set for release on May 19 at 6 PM KST across domestic and global streaming platforms.
