“Prepare with the heart of making a new debut”
“We want to hear the word, ‘After all, (G)I-dle’”
Group (G)I-dle is back after a long hiatus of 1 year and 2 months. Eventually, Soojin left the team, and (G)I-dle returned as a five-member group.
They said, “As we come back with a new image, we are curious and looking forward to seeing how you will view our music.”
The album contains a total of 9 songs in various genres, including the title song ‘Tomboy’.
Regarding ‘I Never Die’, Soyeon said, “We wanted to make an album that proves its worth by facing the world without backing down. We tried to show this worldview with the subtitle ‘I Never Die’.”
The title song ‘Tomboy’ is a song that fully reveals the confident attitude unique to (G)I-dle, and the straightforward lyrics remind the listener of an uncontrollable geek character.
Regarding ‘Tomboy’, Soyeon said, “It contains the message that no one can match me to any standard, and that I am only me.” Miyeon said, “(G)I-dle tried to transform itself into five tomboys.” Soyeon continued, “We proceeded with the concept of watching a movie in a music video. We wanted to show the unique side of the five children,” she said confidently. She continued, “It’s a comeback after a long hiatus, so we prepared with the mindset of making a new debut.”
Yugi said, “I want to hear the words ‘Wow, (G)I-dle is back’ and ‘After all, (G)I-dle'”.
Finally, Soyeon said, “As there was a gap of one year, we tried to make a more meticulous and cool album. We hope it will be an album that fills in the blanks.” She expressed her wish, “As much as it contains the existence and value of children, we want you to think, ‘(G)I-dle really has no end’.”
(G)I-dle’s 1st full-length album ‘I Never Die’ is released at 6 pm on the 14th.
