ILLIT (윤아, 민주, 모카, 원희, 이로하) continues to showcase its enduring popularity on the Billboard global charts.
On July 9th (KST), the latest Billboard charts (dated July 12th) revealed that ILLIT’s debut single, “Magnetic,” from their first mini-album, has ranked on the ‘Global Excl. U.S.’ chart at 21st and the ‘Global 200’ chart at 32nd for 15 consecutive weeks.
Additionally, “Magnetic” was included in Billboard’s recent list, ‘The 20 Best K-Pop Songs of 2024 (So Far): Critic’s Picks.’ Billboard praised the track, stating, “The title ‘Magnetic’ perfectly describes ILLIT’s sophisticated debut single that has captivated listeners worldwide.” They further noted, “ILLIT’s unprecedented achievements with their debut track set high expectations for their future.”
Previously, ILLIT made significant milestones by placing their debut album and single on both major Billboard charts. “Magnetic” was the first debut song by a K-pop group to enter the ‘Hot 100’ (dated April 20th), and their album ‘SUPER REAL ME’ ranked 93rd on the ‘Billboard 200’ (dated May 11th).
The global popularity of “Magnetic” is also evident through various streaming metrics. The song recently surpassed 300 million streams on Spotify in the shortest time for a K-pop girl group debut song. Additionally, it achieved 100 million streams on Japan’s Oricon chart faster than any other female group.
ILLIT is set to attend the ‘2024 TMEA 5th Tencent Music Entertainment Awards’ on July 19th, marking their first appearance in the Chinese market since their debut.
