ITZY is set to make their highly anticipated comeback on October 15 with the release of their new mini-album GOLD. Following the success of their 28-city, 32-show ITZY 2ND WORLD TOUR <BORN TO BE>, which electrified audiences worldwide, the group is ready to reclaim their title as “K-pop Performance Queens” with the release of their double title tracks, “GOLD” and “Imaginary Friend.”
On the day of the release, ITZY heightened fans’ excitement by sharing individual and group concept photos on their official SNS at midnight. Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna dazzled with visuals that perfectly align with the album’s title, shining like gold. The previously released teaser for the “GOLD” music video has also raised anticipation for the unique energy ITZY will bring to their stage performances.
The new mini-album GOLD revolves around the theme “Our World is still different,” symbolizing ITZY’s radiant journey and unique story. The title track “GOLD” features a powerful rock sound driven by electric guitar and vocal shouts, making it a standout track. In contrast, the second title track, “Imaginary Friend,” offers emotional harmonies and evocative lyrics, enhancing listeners’ imaginations.
The album includes tracks created by renowned producers like Ryan Jhun and Dem Jointz, while Stray Kids’ Changbin contributed to the production and featured on the song “VAY.” With a star-studded lineup of composers, GOLD features a total of 11 songs, including the energetic “Bad Girls R Us,” “Supernatural,” and a special fan song “FIVE” celebrating ITZY’s fifth anniversary. The album also includes a final version of tracks from previous releases, such as “BORN TO BE,” “UNTOUCHABLE,” “Mr. Vampire,” “Dynamite,” and “Escalator.”
Known for their standout performances with every comeback, ITZY is expected to dominate this fall with their distinct sound and style through “GOLD” and “Imaginary Friend.” The album will officially drop on October 15 at 6 PM, with a special countdown live event scheduled for 5 PM, just an hour before the release. The group will also hold an official fan meeting on November 2.
