Girl group IVE has claimed the top spot in the May idol group brand reputation rankings, shining brightly in popularity. According to the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute’s analysis of big data, IVE ranked first in the idol group brand reputation for May 2024. Following IVE, ILLIT secured the second position, and SEVENTEEN came in third.
IVE (members An Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Wonyoung, Liz, and Leeseo) achieved a brand reputation index of 7,776,870, with a participation index of 1,483,100, a media index of 1,748,177, a communication index of 2,326,017, and a community index of 2,219,576. This represents a 243.82% increase compared to their brand reputation index of 2,261,882 in April.
Gu Chang-hwan, director of the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute, stated, “IVE’s brand ranked first in May 2024’s idol group brand reputation. The link analysis showed high scores for ‘lucky, Wonyoung-like, challenge’, and keyword analysis revealed ‘HEY, Ascendio, Korean style’. The positive ratio analysis showed a positive rate of 90.61%.”
The analysis was based on big data collected from April 16, 2024, to May 16, 2024, with a total of 84,336,168 pieces of data analyzed, representing a 29.02% increase from the 65,367,855 pieces collected in April.
The brand reputation index reflects the influence of consumer online habits on brand consumption, derived from big data analysis. It includes qualitative evaluations from brand reputation monitors and measures consumer participation, media interest, communication, and community engagement.
The top 30 idol group brand reputation rankings for May 2024 are: IVE, ILLIT, SEVENTEEN, (G)I-DLE, LE SSERAFIM, BLACKPINK, BABYMONSTER, TWS, BTS, NCT, Girls’ Generation, aespa, TWICE, RISE, Apink, BTOB, EXO, Oh My Girl, Stray Kids, THE BOYZ, Block B, ASTRO, Super Junior, SHINee, Red Velvet, H1-KEY, KISS OF LIFE, BOYNEXTDOOR, NewJeans, NMIXX, ZEROBASEONE, ENHYPEN, MONSTA X, ATEEZ, TXT, tripleS, fromis_9, INFINITE, Weeekly, TREASURE, WJSN, MAMAMOO, woo!ah!, STAYC, UN1TY, TVXQ, Kep1er, HIGHLIGHT, YOUNG POSSE, SUPIA.
In second place, ILLIT (members YoonA, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, Iroha) achieved a brand reputation index of 5,999,192, with a participation index of 1,067,470, a media index of 1,224,829, a communication index of 1,789,194, and a community index of 1,917,699, reflecting an 18.91% increase from April’s index of 5,045,265.
SEVENTEEN (members S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino) took third place with a brand reputation index of 5,654,248, comprising a participation index of 627,004, a media index of 1,100,229, a communication index of 1,885,980, and a community index of 2,041,034, marking a 51.14% increase from April’s index of 3,741,080.
(G)I-DLE, LE SSERAFIM, BLACKPINK, BABYMONSTER, TWS, BTS, NCT, Girls’ Generation, aespa, and TWICE also featured prominently in the top 10, showcasing their significant influence and popularity in the K-pop industry.
