It was reported that Miyawaki Sakura, a former member of the project group IZ*ONE, and the Japanese agency’s exclusive contract expired. Sakura, who debuted in Japan in 2011 as a member of AKS group HKT48, made a re-debut as IZone in Korea through Mnet’s survival program ‘Produce 48′ in 2018. After IZ*ONE activities ended, Sakura left HKT48 in June while continuing various activities in her home country of Japan. Since the beginning of this year, reports have continued that Sakura is discussing an exclusive contract with BTS’ agency, HYBE, but HYBE has not made a statement regarding this. So far, HYBE and Source Music have not revealed their positions, but as the exclusive contract with Bernarossum ends, there is a growing expectation that an official statement about Sakura’s actions will be announced soon. According to previous reports, it is known that the girl group that Source Music is preparing will not only include Miyawaki Sakura, but also Kim Chae-won from IZone and Heo Yun-jin from ‘Produce 48’. Another IZ*ONE member, Kim Min-ju, was reported to have been unsuccessful.
