Hundreds of people gathered at the Lincoln Center outdoor concert hall in Manhattan, New York, USA on the evening of Sunday, the 15th. They came here to watch the first K-Pop performance “K-Pop Disco Fever” at Lincoln Center. This performance, co-hosted by Lincoln Center and the Korean Cultural Center in New York, was one of the official programs of the ‘Restart Stage’ to commemorate the reopening of New York’s economy. Gamma Vibe, a Korean female DJ active in the Brooklyn area and professional K-pop dancers took to the stage and performed the music of K-pop singers such as BTS, Blackpink, Twice, and Psy for an hour. As cheerful music resounded around Lincoln Center, which was usually quiet, passersby stopped for a while to listen to the music. Program Director Jordana Lee, who planned the performance, said, “K-pop is a huge cultural content that can be enjoyed by all New Yorkers as well as the Korean community.”
