LE SSERAFIM has dominated the Japanese Oricon rankings, shining in popularity across the archipelago.
According to the latest rankings released by Oricon on the 29th (for the week of March 4th, covering the period from February 19th to 25th), LE SSERAFIM (Kim Chaewon, Sakura, Huh Yunjin, Kazuha, Hong Eunchae) achieved first place in the weekly combined album ranking with their third mini-album ‘EASY’, scoring 114,966 points.
The weekly points for ‘EASY’ (based on the first week of release) significantly surpassed their first full album ‘UNFORGIVEN’ released in May of the previous year, which had around 97,000 points, and increased elevenfold compared to their debut album ‘FEARLESS’, which had around 1,500 points. With each release, LE SSERAFIM continues to break their own records for highest points, showcasing explosive growth worthy of a top K-pop girl group.
LE SSERAFIM has placed all four of their Korean albums released so far, including their debut album ‘FEARLESS’, at the top of Oricon’s weekly combined ranking. Oricon highlighted this achievement on its official website, stating, “LE SSERAFIM has ranked second among all female artists in history for the ‘number of works at number one in the weekly combined album rankings’.”
Previously, ‘EASY’ had also secured the number one spot in Oricon’s weekly album ranking for the week of March 4th. By conquering the weekly combined album ranking as well, they achieved a double crown in Oricon’s weekly rankings. The popularity of the album’s title track of the same name is also notable; the song ranked third in LINE Music’s latest ‘Weekly Song Top 100’ chart (for the period of February 21st to 27th) and ninth in Japan YouTube Music’s latest weekly chart (for the period of February 16th to 22nd).
Meanwhile, on the 28th, LE SSERAFIM won first place on MBC M’s ‘Show! Champion’ with the title track ‘EASY’ from their third mini-album. Through their official team community on the global fandom life platform Weverse, LE SSERAFIM expressed their gratitude, stating, “We are thankful to achieve our first number one with ‘EASY’. We will continue to be LE SSERAFIM that delivers positive energy.”
