NewJeans’ ‘Get Up’ Enters Billboard 200 for 26 Weeks, Tying with BLACKPINK’s ‘THE ALBUM’

The K-pop girl group NewJeans has achieved a significant milestone by matching BLACKPINK’s record in the Billboard main album chart, “Billboard 200.” According to Billboard on the 23rd (local time), NewJeans’ mini-album ‘Get Up’ ranked 197th in the Billboard 200 chart for the week of the 27th. Despite dropping 21 places from 176th the previous week, ‘Get Up’ has remained on the chart for a total of 26 weeks, tying the record set by BLACKPINK’s first regular album ‘THE ALBUM.’ Both albums are currently the longest-charting albums by K-pop girl groups in the history of the Billboard 200.

Furthermore, NewJeans, BLACKPINK, and BTS are the only K-pop groups to have albums that have stayed on the Billboard 200 for over 20 weeks. Additionally, ‘Get Up’ has been charting for over half a year since its entry at number 1 on the Billboard 200 in August last year, continuing to set new records as the longest-charting album by a fourth-generation K-pop group.

The title track ‘Super Shy’ from ‘Get Up’ is also making a long run on the ‘Global 200,’ ranking 121st this week and maintaining its position for 28 consecutive weeks. Moreover, NewJeans’ previous works have been consistently charting on the ‘Global 200’ for over a year, with ‘OMG’ at 179th and ‘Ditto’ at 184th.
