NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein) are maintaining their popularity on the US Billboard charts.
According to the latest charts released by Billboard on August 3 (local time), NewJeans’ Japanese debut single “Supernatural” has entered the ‘Global (excluding US)’ chart at 32nd and the ‘Global 200’ chart at 62nd, marking its fifth consecutive week on these charts.
Their Korean double single “How Sweet” has also remained on the global charts for nine consecutive weeks. The title track “How Sweet” ranks 50th on ‘Global (excluding US)’ and 88th on the ‘Global 200’ chart, while the B-side “Bubble Gum” holds the 148th position on the ‘Global (excluding US)’ chart.
In domestic music charts, NewJeans continue to show strong performance. “Supernatural” has topped the Bugs weekly chart (for the period from July 22 to 28) for four consecutive weeks. “How Sweet” is ranked 4th, and “Bubble Gum” is at 8th place.
On the Melon weekly chart, “How Sweet” has climbed to 2nd place, while “Supernatural” has risen to 4th, both advancing one spot from the previous week. “Bubble Gum” has also secured the 9th position, placing three of NewJeans’ songs in the top 10 of this chart.
Despite being released two months and one month ago respectively, these songs continue to be loved, demonstrating NewJeans’ unique pattern of sustained popularity. On the overall Melon weekly chart, NewJeans have an impressive 10 songs in the rankings.
In Japan, NewJeans’ songs are equally popular. They have placed eight songs on the Spotify Japan ‘Weekly Top Songs’ (for the period from July 19 to 25) and seven songs on the Apple Music Japan ‘Top 100’.
Meanwhile, NewJeans will perform at the halftime show of the ‘2024 Coupang Play Series’ Bayern Munich vs. Tottenham match, to be held on August 3 at 8 PM KST at Seoul World Cup Stadium.
