Putting Criticism to rest… ATEEZ’s cleverness

ATEEZ (Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung, Jongho) will hold their world tour ‘The Fellowship: Break the Wall’ in the second half of 2022 at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Songpa-gu, Seoul for two days from the 29th to the 30th of last month.

ATEEZ continued the concert schedule on the second day amid the disaster in Itaewon, where a number of casualties occurred.

As most of the concerts and festivals scheduled for the 30th were postponed or canceled after the government declared the period of national mourning, the public’s interest in ATEEZ’s activities was concentrated.

The main source of revenue for ATEEZ’s performances, which has been solidifying its global presence through world tours for many years, also played a part.

ATEEZ held a concert and took time to commemorate the Itaewon disaster before and after the performance in consideration of the strict social atmosphere.

Most of the responses were that they understood ATEEZ’s situation, but there were certainly negative opinions.

Regarding the reason for the decision to donate, ATEEZ’s agency said, “The ATEEZ members are deeply grieving over this accident.”

The clever choice of ATEEZ and their agency, who chose to donate, neatly quelled criticism.
