Seventeen Tops the Oricon Weekly Album Ranking in Japan for the Third Time

The group Seventeen has reached the top of the Japanese Oricon chart with their 11th mini album, “SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN.” According to the latest chart released by Oricon on March 12, “SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN” achieved the number one spot in the Oricon weekly album rankings for the week of March 18 (covering the period of March 4-10, 2024), marking the third time the group has topped this chart. This achievement of reaching the chart’s pinnacle three times with a single album is the first since BTS’s “THE BEST” about two years and eight months ago, counting both Japanese and international artists.

“SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN,” released on October 23 last year, continues to enjoy popularity about five months after its release. It initially topped both the Oricon “Weekly Combined Album Ranking” and the “Weekly Album Ranking” immediately following its release.

Moreover, Seventeen has made history in K-pop by becoming the first artist to surpass 5 million sales in the first week of release with “SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN,” thereby setting a new record for first-week sales in the history of K-pop. Additionally, Seventeen plans to perform an encore tour, “SEVENTEEN TOUR ‘FOLLOW’ AGAIN,” in major stadiums in Korea and Japan.
