K-pop group Stray Kids has released a teaser for the music video of “JJAM,” a track from their latest mini-album “ATE.”
Following their comeback with the mini-album “ATE” and the title track “Chk Chk Boom” on July 19, Stray Kids capitalized on their global popularity by unveiling the teaser for “JJAM” on their official channel on the 5th, hinting at an intriguing storyline.
In the teaser, the eight members of Stray Kids are seen engaging in secretive activities in a dark setting. Their faces smeared with red jam, they initially appear confident but soon become wary of unseen presences, leading to a suspenseful chase that ends with the shattering of a glass jar, leaving viewers on edge. The eerie lighting and creative use of jam evoke the feel of a horror movie trailer, intensifying curiosity about the full video.
“JJAM,” the third track on the new album, features a vibrant composition starting with intense synth sounds, encapsulating Stray Kids’ signature playful and unique charm. The group’s producing team, 3RACHA (Bang Chan and Changbin), contributed to the songwriting and production, embedding Stray Kids’ distinct musical style. The song debuted at number 9 on Billboard’s ‘World Digital Song Sales’ chart for the week of August 3.
The mini-album “ATE” reflects Stray Kids’ ambitious goal to dominate the global music market with its well-crafted tracks. It debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 chart for the week of August 3. This achievement marks the group’s fifth consecutive album to debut at number 1 on this chart, starting with “ODDINARY” in March 2022. The title track “Chk Chk Boom” reached number 49 on the Billboard Hot 100, setting a new personal best for the group and marking their third consecutive entry on the chart.
On August 2, Stray Kids headlined the “Lollapalooza Chicago” music festival, delivering a stellar performance that captivated the audience.
Stray Kids is set to kick off their largest world tour yet, “Stray Kids World Tour ‘dominATE’,” with four solo concerts at Seoul’s Olympic Park KSPO DOME from August 24-25 and August 31-September 1.
