The South Korean boy group TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) has achieved another remarkable feat on the Japanese Oricon chart. According to the latest chart rankings released on October 17th for the week of October 9th to 15th, TXT’s 3rd full-length album, “The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE,” secured the top spot on the “Weekly Album Ranking” with approximately 225,000 units sold.
This achievement marks TXT’s third album to reach the number one position on the “Weekly Album Ranking” in Japan this year alone, with their 5th mini-album “The Chaos Chapter: FIGHT OR ESCAPE” and their 2nd Japanese full-length album “STILL DREAMING” being the previous chart-toppers. Oricon highlighted that TXT is the only artist this year to achieve three number one albums on this chart.
What’s particularly noteworthy is that “The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE” reaching the top spot has extended TXT’s impressive streak of having nine consecutive albums from overseas artists to reach the number one position on the Oricon chart. They began this streak with their mini-album “minisode1: Blue Hour” and have continued their chart-topping run, breaking their own records along the way. The album’s sales have also been substantial, with approximately 1.92 million copies sold on the first day of its release, setting the stage for a potential “double million seller” status.
TXT’s consistent success in Japan and their ability to repeatedly top the Oricon chart underscore their growing popularity and influence not only in South Korea but also internationally.
