Tzuyu is set to become the third member of TWICE to embark on a solo career, following in the footsteps of Nayeon and Jihyo.
On August 2, JYP Entertainment announced Tzuyu’s solo debut through their official channels, along with a surprise release of an album opening trailer video.
Tzuyu’s debut mini-album is titled ‘abouTZU,’ a fusion of the words ‘about’ and ‘TZUYU.’ This marks the transition of Tzuyu from TWICE’s youngest member to a solo artist.
The opening trailer, reminiscent of a movie preview, showcases Tzuyu’s stunning beauty paired with captivating visuals. The video features surreal elements like multiple clocks that obscure time, a flame spreading in a water cup, papers strewn across the floor, and waves crashing inside a picture frame, creating a dreamlike atmosphere.
The trailer includes intriguing captions such as “I’m a believer, a Dreamer. Trust me,” and “before I give you my all, I will ask one last time. So are you ready?” which serve as Easter eggs, sparking curiosity about the storyline and themes of the album.
Further details about Tzuyu’s mini-album ‘abouTZU’ will be gradually unveiled through TWICE’s official channels.
Meanwhile, TWICE recently concluded their fifth world tour, ‘TWICE 5TH WORLD TOUR “READY TO BE” in JAPAN SPECIAL,’ with performances at Kanagawa Nissan Stadium on July 27 and 28. This marked the first time an overseas female artist headlined the venue. The extensive world tour, which spanned 27 regions with 51 performances over 1 year and 3 months, attracted a total of 1.5 million spectators, solidifying their status as global stadium artists.
