BTS’s V Tops the Japanese Oricon Weekly Digital Album Ranking with ‘Layover’

BTS’s V, also known as V, has achieved the top spot on Japan’s Oricon weekly album chart with his first solo album, ‘Layover.’ According to the latest chart released by Oricon on the 13th, ‘Layover,’ which was released on the 8th, entered the weekly digital album ranking with 6,551 downloads, immediately reaching the number one position.

V had previously topped the ‘Daily Album Ranking’ on September 8th with a sales figure of 221,491 copies. On the same day, his title track ‘Slow Dancing’ from ‘Layover’ also reached the top spot on the Oricon ‘Daily Digital Single Ranking,’ achieving dominance in both the album and digital single charts upon the album’s release.

According to Hanteo Chart, a domestic album sales aggregation site, as of the 12th, ‘Layover’ has sold 1.95 million copies and is on the verge of reaching 2 million copies sold. ‘Layover’ became a ‘million seller’ on its release day and set a new record for the highest sales on the first day among K-pop solo artist albums. The album includes six tracks, including the title track ‘Slow Dancing,’ pre-released songs like ‘Rainy Days,’ ‘Love Me Again,’ ‘Blue,’ ‘For Us,’ and a bonus track ‘Slow Dancing (Piano Ver.).’
