Jimin’s ‘FACE’ Re-enters Billboard 200 at No. 59, Influenced by Vinyl Release

Jimin, a member of the global supergroup BTS, has seen his first solo album ‘FACE’ re-enter the U.S. Billboard main album chart, ‘Billboard 200’. According to Billboard on the 23rd (local time), ‘FACE’ re-entered the ‘Billboard 200’ at number 59 for the week of the 27th, largely due to the recent sales of its vinyl (LP) version. This album, which previously peaked at number 2 on the ‘Billboard 200’, has now spent a total of seven weeks on the chart.

Additionally, ‘FACE’ debuted at number 2 on this week’s Billboard Vinyl Albums chart and reclaimed the top spot on the Billboard World Albums chart. It also re-entered at number 4 on both the Billboard Top Album Sales chart and the Top Current Album Sales chart.

Other BTS members have also seen their albums re-enter the ‘Billboard 200’ following the release of vinyl or physical albums. RM’s first solo album ‘Indigo’ initially peaked at number 3 on the ‘Billboard 200’ and re-entered at number 53 with its vinyl release. J-Hope’s ‘Jack In The Box’ initially entered at number 17 on the ‘Billboard 200’ as a Weverse album and re-entered at number 6 with the physical ‘Hope Edition’. BTS’s mini-album ‘LOVE YOURSELF 承 Her’, released in September 2017, also re-entered the ‘Billboard 200’ at number 13 last year following its vinyl release.

Jungkook’s solo album ‘GOLDEN’ and its title track ‘Standing Next to You’ continue to chart even after his enlistment. ‘GOLDEN’ is at number 44 on the ‘Billboard 200’, and ‘Standing Next to You’ is at number 87 on the main singles chart, ‘Hot 100’. This marks Jungkook’s 11th consecutive week on both of Billboard’s main charts, setting a new record for the longest charting period by a K-pop solo artist on the ‘Billboard 200’.
