The album, available on various music sites from 6 PM, introduces the title track ‘Smoothie’ along with its music video on YouTube’s SMTOWN channel. This release marks NCT DREAM’s initial journey of escaping the numb reality caused by dark and difficult situations to search for an ideal dream, offering empathy, warmth, and support to the youth of today facing similar challenges.
‘Smoothie’, the album’s title track, is a hip-hop dance song characterized by its 808 bass line, snare rhythm, and catchy chanting, conveying a message of overcoming the world’s cold views and self-doubt by blending them away like a smoothie. The album explores various themes, including the fear felt during escape from reality in ‘icantfeelanything’, the determination to break free and leap forward in ‘BOX’, the clever depiction of emotions faced with diverse temptations in ‘Carat Cake’, the pledge to dive into the unknown even amidst wandering in ‘UNKNOWN’, and the genuine sentiments expressed towards a supportive figure in difficult times in ‘Breathing’.
Furthermore, NCT DREAM is set to hold a live broadcast to celebrate the album’s release, starting from 4:30 PM today on their YouTube, Weverse, and TikTok channels. The broadcast will feature previews of the new songs, introductions to the tracks, and behind-the-scenes stories from the making of the album. ‘DREAM( )SCAPE’ will also be available as a physical album on the same day.
