Popular group ATEEZ has made an impressive mark by entering the top 3 of the Billboard 200 chart for the fourth consecutive time. According to Billboard’s preview article for the top 10 on the Billboard 200 for the week of June 15, ATEEZ’s latest mini album, ‘GOLDEN HOUR: Part.1,’ debuted at number 2 after its release on May 31.
The album achieved the highest first-week sales of any K-pop album this year, selling approximately 131,000 units. The Billboard 200 chart rankings combine traditional album sales, streaming equivalent albums (SEA), and track equivalent albums (TEA). ‘GOLDEN HOUR: Part.1’ recorded 127,000 in traditional album sales and 4,000 SEA units.
This marks ATEEZ’s fourth time in the top 3 on the Billboard 200. Their mini album ‘THE WORLD EP.1: MOVEMENT,’ released in July 2022, reached number 3 on the chart. Their mini album ‘THE WORLD EP.2: OUTLAW,’ released in June 2023, peaked at number 2, and their full-length album ‘THE WORLD EP FIN: WILL,’ released in December 2023, reached number 1, making them the first group from a mid-sized K-pop agency to top the Billboard 200.
Additionally, their event single ‘SPIN OFF: FROM THE WITNESS’ reached number 7 on the Billboard 200, making it their fifth consecutive album to enter the top 10.
ATEEZ has now had seven albums chart on the Billboard 200. They first entered the chart in 2021 with their mini album ‘ZERO: FEVER Part.3,’ which peaked at number 42. Their repackaged EP ‘ZERO: FEVER EPILOGUE’ reached number 73 the following year.
ATEEZ’s popularity continues to soar internationally. On June 8, they secured the 4th spot on the UK Official Albums Chart, becoming the first K-pop group to have three albums in the top 10 of this chart within a year. They also ranked 4th on France’s SNEP Top Albums chart and 6th on Germany’s Offizielle Deutsche Charts Top 100 Albums chart.
Meanwhile, American pop superstar Taylor Swift’s 11th studio album ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ has maintained its number 1 position on the Billboard 200 for seven consecutive weeks.
