BLACKPINK’s Jennie Hits No. 61 on Billboard’s ‘Hot 100’ with Collaborative Track, Achieving the Highest Ranking for a K-pop Female Solo Artist

Jennie, a member of the leading K-pop girl group BLACKPINK and a solo artist, has set a new record for the highest ranking achieved by a K-pop female solo artist on the US Billboard main singles chart, ‘Hot 100’, with a collaborative song. According to Billboard on the 17th (local time), the song “One Of The Girls,” which Jennie collaborated on with Canadian star singer-songwriter The Weeknd and American actress and singer Lily-Rose Melody Depp for the HBO series ‘The Idol,’ ranked 61st on the ‘Hot 100’ chart dated the 20th. The track initially debuted at No. 100 on the chart three weeks ago, dropped off the chart but re-entered at No. 69 last week, and climbed eight spots this week, updating its highest position and setting a new record for K-pop female solo artists.

Other K-pop female solo artists have also made notable appearances on the chart. Another BLACKPINK member, Rosé, reached 70th place with “On The Ground.” Lisa, also from BLACKPINK, had her singles “Lalisa” and “Money” peak at 84th and 90th respectively. Additionally, CL, a former member of the group ‘2NE1’, reached 94th place with “LIFTED” and also featured on Psy’s “Daddy,” which peaked at 97th.

Furthermore, Jennie is expanding her career, debuting as an actress through ‘The Idol’. While continuing her activities with BLACKPINK through YG Entertainment, she has also established an individual label ‘ODD ATELIER’ (OA) for her solo ventures. She is set to appear in tvN’s real-life mystery drama ‘Apartment 404’ (scheduled to air in February), joining celebrities like Yoo Jae-suk and Cha Tae-hyun, marking her entry into entertainment shows as well.
