BTS, 1st place in the International Music Industry Association’s Global Artists list for 2 years in a row

BTS with the ‘Global Recording Artist of the Year’ trophy. 

BTS won the ‘Global Recording Artist of the Year’ award for 2 consecutive years on the ‘Global Artist Chart’ selected by the International Music Industry Association (IFPI). The International Music Industry Association announced on the 24th that BTS took first place on the ‘Global Artist Chart 2021’. 

The ‘Global Artist Chart’ ranks the total sales of physical albums sold worldwide during the year, digital music downloads, and audio and video streaming figures. 

The International Music Industry Association said, “BTS dominated the world in 2021.” 

BTS said, “Thank you to everyone who listened to and cared for BTS’ music and to ARMYs.” 

Following BTS, Taylor Swift was in 2nd place, Adele in 3rd, Drake in 4th, Ed Sheeran in 5th, The Weeknd in 6th, Billie Eilish in 7th, and Justin Bieber in 8th.
