Group BTS has succeeded in winning awards for five consecutive years at the American Music Awards (AMA), one of the top three popular music awards ceremonies in the United States.
At the ‘2022 AMA’ held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on the 21st, BTS won the ‘Favorite Pop Duo/Group’ and ‘Favorite K-Pop Artist’ categories.
Starting with the ‘Favorite Social Artist’ in 2018, BTS wrote a new record of winning the ‘AMA’ for 5 consecutive years.
In particular, in the “Favorite Pop Duo/Group” category, they have succeeded in winning the award for four years since 2019.
BTS is the only team in the history of ‘AMA’ to have won the ‘Favorite Pop Duo/Group’ trophy four times.
‘Favorite K-Pop Artist’ is a category newly established this year, and BTS beat Blackpink, Seventeen, Twice, and Tomorrow by Together to become the first winner.
BTS will challenge their first award at the ’65th Grammy Awards’ to be held in February next year.
Meanwhile, TXT, a junior group of BTS who were nominated for the category of ‘Favorite K-Pop Artist’, stepped on the red carpet of ‘AMA’ for the first time since their debut.
