BTS Jimin’s ‘Who’ Tops RED’s 2024 ‘Song of the Summer’

BTS member Jimin’s track “Who” has been named the top summer song of 2024 by the global non-profit organization RED. The announcement places Jimin’s “Who” as the No. 1 song in RED’s ‘2024 Song of the Summer’ rankings, highlighting its popularity this season.

RED, a non-profit focused on disease prevention and vaccine distribution for underprivileged communities, conducted the poll in collaboration with music tracking account ChartData and media outlet Flat. The poll featured global hits, including Sabrina Carpenter’s “Please, Please, Please,” Megan Thee Stallion’s “Mamushi,” Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” and “Freedom” by Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar.

Released on July 19, at the start of summer, “Who” debuted at No. 3 on Spotify’s Global Daily Chart with over 7.9 million streams, holding the top spot for 20 days. It also ranked 3rd on the Weekly Top Songs Global Chart for the week of September 20–26. The track remains in the top 10 on the Global Daily Chart, marking the longest-charting K-pop solo song in the top 10. Jimin’s album MUSE, which features “Who,” has stayed in the top 10 of Spotify’s Weekly Top Albums Global Chart for 10 consecutive weeks, peaking at No. 8.

“Who” has also seen success on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, ranking 30th in its ninth week, the highest for a K-pop solo song. Jimin previously topped Seattle’s Channel R Radio’s ‘Song of the Summer 24’ as well, solidifying his dominance during this year’s summer season. Even as summer transitions into fall, “Who” continues to garner widespread love and acclaim.
