The group BTS won the grand prize at the American Music Awards, which is considered one of the three major music awards in the United States on the 21st.
BTS won the ‘Artist of the Year’ award at the American Music Awards (AMA), which is considered one of the top three music awards in the United States. BTS won the grand prize following the ‘Favorite Pop Duo or Group’ and ‘Favorite Pop Song’ categories at the 2021 AMA held at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, USA on the 21st.
BTS expressed their gratitude to the fan club ‘Army’ again and again, saying, “We are truly honored and grateful to stand on stage with amazing and great artists.”
Beating out prominent artists, BTS received the grand prize for the first time as an artist of Asian nationality.
Even before the winners were called, the awards ceremony was filled with shouts of fans calling out BTS’ names.
When their name was called as the winner of ‘Favorite Pop Duo or Group’, BTS thanked ARMY fans, saying, “You are our universe.”
BTS, who even won the grand prize, emphasized their affection and gratitude to their fans several times.
AMA is considered the most popular music awards ceremony in the United States because the winners are decided by popular vote. BTS made its name in earnest in the United States through the AMA stage performance in 2017.
At the awards ceremony that day, the shouts of fans were particularly high in the category where BTS was nominated.
BTS will hold a concert at Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles on the 27th and 28th and on the 1st and 2nd of next month, and meet their fans offline for the first time in two years.
