BTS member V’s music video for “FRI(END)S” has been nominated in the Best Pop International category at the 2024 UK Music Video Awards (UKMVA). Released on March 15, the music video for V’s digital single earned recognition for its creative and technical excellence in one of the industry’s most prestigious awards, which began in 2008.
“FRI(END)S” is a Pop Soul R&B track where V confesses his desire to move beyond friendship into something deeper. The sweet lyrics and soothing melody blend perfectly with V’s distinctive vocals and emotional delivery.
The music video plays on the concept of parallel lives, depicting two contrasting versions of V, sparking viewers’ imagination. His nuanced facial expressions and emotional portrayal of different relationship scenarios received critical praise. Filmed in the UK, the video gained immediate popularity, topping YouTube’s World Trending Music section for 14 consecutive days upon release.
