BTS member Jimin has made his mark on the Billboard ‘Hot 100’ chart with his pre-release track.
On July 8 (local time), American music magazine Billboard announced via its official social media that Jimin’s pre-release track “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco)” from his second solo album ‘MUSE,’ released on June 28, has entered the ‘Hot 100’ chart (dated July 13) at No. 88. This achievement marks Jimin’s fifth solo entry on the ‘Hot 100’ chart.
Previously, Jimin debuted on this chart as a solo artist in 2023 with “VIBE (feat. Jimin of BTS)” (76th place), a collaboration with Taeyang. His solo debut album ‘FACE’ included tracks “Set Me Free Pt.2” (30th place) and the title track “Like Crazy” (1st place), both of which also made it to the ‘Hot 100.’ Notably, with “Like Crazy,” Jimin became the first K-pop solo artist to top the ‘Hot 100,’ achieving this feat as both a group member and solo artist.
Additionally, Jimin appeared on the ‘Hot 100’ with “Angel Pt. 1 (Feat. Jimin of BTS, JVKE & Muni Long / FAST X Soundtrack),” a track from the movie ‘Fast & Furious: Ride or Die’ soundtrack, which ranked at No. 65.
According to Billboard’s official social media, “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco)” also topped the ‘World Digital Song Sales’ chart (1st place) and ranked No. 7 on the ‘Global (Excl. U.S.)’ chart, further proving Jimin’s enduring popularity.
“Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco)” is a track based on the concept of a marching band. It combines big band orchestral sounds with hip-hop elements, showcasing Jimin’s refreshing vocals harmonized with Loco’s rap.
Jimin’s second solo album ‘MUSE’ is set for a global release on July 19 at 1 PM KST. ‘MUSE’ explores the journey of seeking sources of inspiration, with seven interconnected tracks centered around the theme of ‘love.’
