BTS’s Jungkook’s “Seven” Sells Over 2 Million Units in the US, Qualifies for Double Platinum Certification

BTS member Jungkook has achieved a significant milestone with his first solo single “Seven,” surpassing 2 million unit sales in the United States and thereby qualifying for Double Platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). This accomplishment marks him as the first K-pop solo artist to have a song with over 2 million units sold in the U.S., a feat achieved roughly seven months post-release. Jungkook’s success is further highlighted by his subsequent solo single “3D,” which also enjoyed considerable success, selling over 1 million units in the U.S.

In addition to his solo achievements, Jungkook has shown remarkable performance with other releases, including collaborations and tracks from BTS albums, showcasing his widespread popularity and unique presence in the world’s largest music market. He has set a new record as the first K-pop solo artist to have four songs with over 1 million unit sales and six songs with over 500,000 unit sales in the U.S. This exceptional achievement emphasizes his significant impact and popularity in the international music scene.

“Seven” has not only achieved commercial success but also made a notable impression on various music charts globally, including the Billboard Hot 100, Billboard Global (excluding the U.S.), and the Official UK Singles Chart. Additionally, it broke streaming records on Spotify and was ranked in the top 10 of the IFPI’s 2023 Global Single Chart, further establishing Jungkook’s song as a global hit. His album “GOLDEN” also set records for a K-pop solo artist in the U.S., underlining his extraordinary talent and the global appeal of his music.
