ILLIT Breaks Girl Group Debut Record with ‘Super Real Me’ and Enters Melon TOP10

ILLIT has set a new record for the highest first-week sales (known as “initial chodong”) for a K-pop girl group debut album. According to Hanteo Chart, their first mini-album ‘Super Real Me’, released on March 25, sold a total of 380,056 copies in its first week (March 25-31), surpassing the previous record for a K-pop girl group debut album, which stood at approximately 310,000 copies. This achievement places them in the top 5 for first-week sales of debut albums across all K-pop groups.

ILLIT’s success is also evident on the music charts. Their title track ‘Magnetic’ broke into the Melon Daily Chart’s top 10, ranking 7th just a week after its debut on April 1. The song entered the Melon Daily Chart at 89th place on its second day of release and climbed to 34th place by March 28, coinciding with the start of their music broadcast promotions.

Moreover, ‘Magnetic’ marked ILLIT’s entry into Spotify’s ‘Daily Top Songs Global’ on their debut day, a first for a K-pop girl group, and set a record for the fastest entry by a K-pop group into ‘Daily Top Songs USA’. The track has remained on both charts for six consecutive days and five consecutive days, respectively. Additionally, ‘Magnetic’ created a record for the fastest entry by a K-pop group into Spotify’s ‘Weekly Top Songs Global’ and set a new record on China’s largest music streaming platform QQ Music for the highest streams on a debut day for a K-pop girl group debut title track.
