NewJeans, a rising girl group phenomenon, has set a new record with their mini-album “Get Up” by charting for the 19th consecutive week on the US Billboard 200. As of December 9, “Get Up” has climbed 37 spots from the previous week to rank 80th on the chart. This achievement ties the record for the longest-charting album by a 4th generation K-pop group, matching the record previously set by “Tomorrow X Together” (TXT) with their mini-album “The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION.”
“Get Up” is also challenging the record for the longest-charting album by a K-pop girl group on the Billboard 200. The current record is held by BLACKPINK’s first full album “THE ALBUM,” which stayed on the chart for a total of 26 weeks. Additionally, NewJeans’ success extends beyond the Billboard charts, as “Get Up” was featured in “The New York Times” and “Rolling Stone’s” lists of ‘Albums of the Year.’ The group has also swept major year-end award ceremonies, winning four awards, including two grand prizes at the ‘MAMA Awards,’ and five awards, including two grand prizes at the ‘Melon Music Awards 2023.’
NewJeans continues to dominate the Billboard Global charts as well. Their songs “Super Shy” and “Attention” are currently ranked 115th and 135th on the ‘Global 200,’ while “Attention” is 76th, “Super Shy” 79th, “Ditto” 130th, “OMG” 158th, and “ETA” 182nd on the ‘Billboard Global’ (Excl. US) chart.
