BTS member Jin’s self-composed track ‘Abyss’ has showcased its powerful musical influence by securing the top spot on iTunes charts across the globe. Recently, ‘Abyss’ claimed the number one position on Azerbaijan’s iTunes Top Songs Chart, demonstrating its widespread appeal.
Initially hitting number one on Portugal’s iTunes Top Songs Chart in January, ‘Abyss’ achieved first place rankings in 23 countries. Later in the same month, it added Micronesia and Azerbaijan to its list, bringing the total to 25 countries where ‘Abyss’ has reached the top spot. Initially available only on SoundCloud and YouTube, ‘Abyss’ was officially released on all streaming platforms in October 2022. It quickly climbed the charts, including the Worldwide Chart, iTunes USA Chart, and iTunes Europe Chart, solidifying Jin’s global popularity.
‘Abyss’ has also marked significant streaming success on Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform, amassing over 46 million streams and affirming Jin’s distinguished presence as a top solo artist. Released on December 4, 2020, to coincide with Jin’s birthday, ‘Abyss’ resonates with its listeners through its lyrical melody and Jin’s clear voice, expressing his feelings of burnout authentically and eliciting empathy.
