BTS V’s ‘Layover’ Surpasses 50 Million on All Tracks on Spotify, Setting Record for Fastest K-Pop Solo

BTS member V has set a new record in the K-pop solo scene by achieving 50 million streams on all tracks of his solo album in the shortest time. V’s solo album ‘Layover’ reached this milestone on Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform, in just 72 days after its release on November 18. This achievement demonstrates V’s strong presence in the global music industry.

V released ‘Layover’ on September 8, marking a significant record as the first K-pop solo album to have all its tracks chart on Spotify’s ‘Global Weekly Chart’ within its first week of release. As of November 20, V’s solo album, with only six tracks, surpassed 745 million streams on Spotify. By the next day, V’s official Spotify page had reached over 1.7 billion streams, showcasing his powerful influence as a solo artist.

The track ‘Love Me Again’ from the album, known for V’s compelling vocals and a rich, sophisticated R&B sound, has gained widespread popularity, achieving an impressive 228 million streams on Spotify as of November 20. The title track ‘Slow Dancing’, praised for its fresh and innovative outro flute improvisation and reflecting V’s relaxed taste, is also gaining popularity with 197 million streams.

‘Slow Dancing’ has been warmly received, staying on Billboard’s ‘Global Chart (excluding the US)’ and ‘Global 200 Chart’ for ten weeks. V has also demonstrated his strong presence as a soloist by charting on Spotify’s ‘Global Artist Chart’ for 100 days, a feat only achieved by two other K-pop solo artists before him.

Additionally, V sparked anticipation among fans by teasing a snippet of a new song on his social media on November 21, aligning with the winter mood and adding to his growing acclaim.
