BTS’s V Tops iTunes Album Chart in 101 Countries with ‘Layover,’ Ranks Among Global Solo Top 15

BTS’s V has continued to shine as a world-class pop star with his solo album ‘Layover,’ which has achieved significant global success on iTunes. As of June 4 (KST), ‘Layover’ reached the number one spot on the iTunes Top Albums chart in Azerbaijan, marking the 101st country where the album has topped the charts since its release.

V has joined an elite group of only four Asian solo artists who have reached number one on the iTunes album charts in 100 countries, following fellow BTS members RM, J-Hope, and Suga. Globally, only 15 artists have achieved this milestone, including Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Camila Cabello, Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake, Eminem, Katy Perry, Drake, and Ariana Grande.

This accomplishment with his debut solo album highlights V’s immense popularity and solidifies his position as a powerful solo artist. In addition to the album’s success, the tracks from ‘Layover’ have also performed remarkably well. ‘Slow Dancing’ topped the iTunes charts in 101 countries, ‘Rainy Days’ in 97 countries, and ‘Love Me Again’ in 74 countries.

‘Layover’ is the first album by a K-pop solo artist to have all its tracks surpass 100 million streams on Spotify, with a total of over 1.54032 billion streams for the entire album. The album also achieved a historic ranking, reaching number 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, the highest for a K-pop solo artist. Additionally, the tracks ‘Slow Dancing’ and ‘Love Me Again’ charted on the Billboard Hot 100.

On June 1, ‘Layover’ achieved over 100,000 units sold in the United States, further demonstrating the album’s widespread appeal and the strong support from V’s fans.
