NewJeans’ “Ditto” Surpasses 500 Million Streams on Spotify, Achieving the Feat for the Second Time

The song “Ditto” by the group NewJeans (members Minji, Hani, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein) has surpassed 500 million streams on Spotify. According to the world’s largest music streaming platform Spotify, as of December 2, the single from their album ‘OMG’ had been played 500,424,244 times. “Ditto” is NewJeans’ second song to achieve this milestone, following the title track “OMG” from the same album.

The song has seen a significant increase in daily streams on Spotify, especially as it approaches its one-year anniversary. In the past month, “Ditto” averaged 650,000 to 700,000 daily streams, but since November 30, this number has risen to around one million streams per day. “Ditto” is a warm, melodious track prepared for NewJeans’ first winter with their fandom, Bunnies. It made an impressive record on the Korean music chart Melon, holding the number one spot on the daily chart for 99 days and on the weekly chart for 14 consecutive weeks, and it continues to rank high on various music charts.

Internationally, “Ditto” also created a buzz, marking NewJeans’ entry into the Billboard Hot 100 within six months of their debut. The song has been on the Billboard ‘Global Excl. U.S.’ chart for 49 consecutive weeks as of December 2. This popularity led to “Ditto” ranking 24th on the Billboard 2023 Year-End ‘Global Excl. U.S.’ chart and 52nd on the ‘Global 200’ chart. Additionally, NewJeans won the ‘Song of the Year’ award at both the ‘2023 MAMA Awards’ and the ‘Melon Music Awards 2023 (MMA2023)’ last month with “Ditto.” The song has also been nominated for the prestigious ‘Outstanding Work Award’ at the ‘Japan Record Awards,’ making it the first foreign song to be considered for the top prize, which will be announced on December 30.
